Hey, everyone! Just thought I'd give you a quick update! Right now I'm doing some work for a great small publisher called BlueWater Comics! I'm doing the artwork for Warlock, based on the movies made in the 90's, released by Lions Gate Films! Click HERE for the official press release. I'm very excited to be working on this book and it has been a great experience. The story is awesome, written by Nick Lyons and has some great colors by John Hunt! Yes, that is correct, this book will be in COLOR!!!! This book is scheduled to be released in March. Click HERE for the official solicit info. So, make sure you go and pester your local comic shop to order this and tell your friends to buy it! Below are some preview pages to the first issue. Take a look at them and tell me what you think in the forum! |

| Hey, hey, HEY!!!! Guess what? I'm still alive! Yeah! Long time, no update. Well, since I'm here, I thought I'd do some minor updates and catch you all up to speed on what I'm up to. First, I did away with the tutorials section. (Since it probably would have been forever to never to find the time to put something together.) And in it's place, I put in a Gallery section. That way, you can see all my favorite works in one place. Second, I updated my Links page. There's some awesome sites and great people to see. So, go check it out! And third, I'm updating my journal , as you can see. :) Next, on my list, is to put together some wallpapers for you in the download section. So, if there's a piece of my artwork you'd like to see as a wallpaper, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Now, what am I working on? Well, I'm just about finished with Dungar issue zero. I have ten pages left to ink, plus a cover. You can actually check out a 3 page preview in my gallery or click on the thumbnails below. After Dungar, I'll be working on a project, with Tyler James, for a Zuda Comics submission. He's wrote a pretty killer story and I'm looking forward to drawing it. I have half of it layed out, but I put it on hold until I finish Dungar. I'm also working with Jason Berek-Lewis on a comic that he's really passionate about. While Jason's writing, I'll be doing the concept art for it. You can even go to his blog and see the first concept drawing I did. Just look in is December section. You should find it there. When were ready, we'll be searching for an artist to draw his incredible story! So, if you're an artist and you want to work with us (and possibly get paid), then show us what you got! :) Whew! There you go. You're all pretty much up to speed now. I'll do much better at updating. I promise! In the meantime, post in the forum or drop me a line. I'd love to hear from ya! :) Til' next time! |

| Hey, Happy Halloween! Yeah, I know it's early, but who knows when the next will be when I update this this thing. Anyway, I thought I'd share with you the process I go through to do a finished drawing. To your right is another pin-up of the ever lovable barbarian, Dungar! Which, by the way, I just got the script for it, so I will be cranking out pages when I return from Stumptown Comic Fest, next week. But, back on topic. The hardest part for me is doing the layout. Layouts usually don't take me long to do, but to me, they are the most difficult part in the process. First, I think of what I want to draw, (sometimes, that's hard in itself). Once I have the image in my head that I want, I will start my drawing on a 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper. From there, I will just start to block in the frame of the figures and background. I usually try to draw as fast as I can. because the image will have a more natural look to it. I'm not worried about keeping the image clean (that comes later), I just want to get the form there and make sure that it looks proportionate. I also don't worry about if my image goes off the sheet, because I can fix that later. Once I have my rough layout down, I will take my drawing to my mirror. This helps me see anything, that's wrong, that I didn't see before. Once I have it the way I want it. I will then scan it into my computer and blow it up to 11" X 17". At this point, if my image goes off the sheet, like Dungar's feet getting cut off, I will reposition it so I will have room to draw the feet later. Once I have it the way I want, I will make my rough into a blue line image, that I can print out on a color copier onto a card stock paper. I also print the blue line out very light. I have it where I can still see it, but won't interfere with the drawing. Now that the hard part is done, all I have to do, is basically connect the dots and put in all the detail I want without smudging my image. I can even erase something and not have to worry about losing my rough template. And there you go. That's basically what I do when I create my finished drawings. Now you know my secret. So, don't go telling everybody. Now, I have to finish getting ready to go to Stumptown Comic Fest! Maybe I'll see you there! Click

| It seems like time is just cruising by. It's already the middle of September. Well, here's the status of what is going on. I didn't land a job at Marvel (yet!), but, I did land a couple of other gigs that I'm proud to be apart of. The first one, I can't say anything about, as they would like to keep it hush, hush. The second one though, is I've been hired to help revitalize a comic that was done in the early 90's. It's called Dungar the Barbarian published by Dimestore Productions and they published 49 issues. That's right, 49 issues! To me, that's impressive. So, when they asked me to help bring this comic back, I was all over it! What I love about it, is the energy they have for this comic. So, I'm very excited to be working on this. The image to your right, is my version of Dungar. I did it to get a feel for the character. I think it came out pretty good, what do you all think? Click here for a larger view. As for Marvel, I'm still going to pursue it. It's been hard finding the time to get to it with all this other stuff going on. Work, my side business, 2 comic projects (3 if you count They & Them), all this has been keeping me pretty busy. But, as always, I will keep you all posted. |

Wow! Long time no update! Sorry about that. But, I thought I would at least let you all know what I'm up to. Well, you see that pic to your right? No, I'm not working for Marvel (not yet), but that's my goal. I'm on a quest to break in at Marvel Comics. I figure now is the time to try. I applied there many years ago and I was very close to getting in (at least I thought so). There was an editor there that was seeing the improvement in my art and told me I was getting close. But, then I stopped sending submissions. Why? It wasn't because I was discouraged. I think it was because my interest had turned to animation. So, that's what I ended up pursuing. Or maybe it was a girl. I don't remember. But, my love for comics just keeps getting stronger and I figure now is the time to try to turn my hobby, that I love, into a career. Even if I don't make it in, I can at least say I tried and I won't have to live with any regrets. My plan is to hit them every other week with a submission and I'm going to continue to do that until they either give me a job or a restraining order. Which ever comes first (hopefully a job). But, I'm not going to quit. So, I need all the support I can get and I will keep you all informed on my progress. So, what does this mean for They & Them? Well, it's on the back burner set to simmer. I will finish it and I'll draw it in between submissions. But my quest for Marvel is my main goal right now. I'll post bigger pics of my Captain America sketches in the forum, so be sure to check them out and let me know what you think. I also have three pages drawn for my first submission. I'll try to scan those in tomorrow and post them for you all to see. Wish me luck! |

Hey, remember me? That's right, I'm back! Finally got my house and moved in. Things can start getting back to normal and go a little more smoothly. I have plenty of room to work in. There were a couple of weeks where I was only getting 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night. That was brutal. But, it's done and I can start to devote my spare time to They & Them. I know Jason is looking forward to that. To finally see his story come to life. And it's a good one. I think you're going to like it! Here's a quick promo I did to kinda get back into the groove of things. Click here for a larger view. |

| Alright, you get to see it here first, as promised. This is Mr. Smoke. The other bad guy to the story. It's been pretty crazy here for awhile and looks like it will continue for a couple more weeks. With all the freelance work and trying to buy a house and then getting laid up for a few days, I haven't had much time to do any drawing. Tonight was the first chance I had to finish this picture up. But, once I get moved into my new house and into my new studio, it should be a lot better! Next,.... the pages!!! Click here for a larger view. |

| Well, I need to apologize to you guys. You see, unless you frequent the other forums I go to, you are going to be the last person to see this new image of The Renegade. I just thought that it would be cool to give others, that don't frequent my site a lot, the first glimpse at my latest image. Another reason, is that a friend of mine was tieing up my computer that I use to update my site. So, I decided to make my rounds in the forums instead. Hope you can forgive me. But, I promise, my next image, and it's going to be a dozy, I promise that I will show it to you guys here first! Click here for a larger view. |

| Alright, I got the first 10 pages to They & Them. And I have to say.... this one is going to Rock! If you haven't guessed by now, Jason Berek-Lewis is writing the script and he is doing a bang-up job. We also have Cary Kelley doing the edits on this. He's here to make sure we're on the right path. So, our story doesn't get confusing. I'm looking forward to drawing this. What we have to your right, is a quick 10 minute (if even that) sketch, of one of the villians in this story ark. Right now, he is just known as the Renegade. So, feel free to click on it and have a closer look. Now, I have to get to work if I'm going to finish this. But, I'll keep you updated. | Well, first things first.... Happy New Year! Hey, better late then never right? Whew, and what a year it was. And this year is going to be even better! (I hope) Just to keep you guys informed, last time I mentioned that I got robbed. Well, I have some good news. They found the perps and I was able to get most of my stuff back! WaHoo! I was very excited about that. It just goes to show, that crime doesn't pay! The Hero Realm comic jam is looking good. Everyone's work is looking great! I've just about completed inking my page. I haven't decided on whether I will color it or give it to someone else to color. I guess it just comes down to whether I have time or not. I have also gotten the first 2 pages of the script, for the They & Them comic and if the rest of the book is like the first 2 pages, it's gonna Rock! I'm hoping to have the 2 issues completed by late June. Hopefully I'll get enough time to work on it between my design work. Well, that's all for now, til' next time! Click here for a larger view. |
